| 1. To install the Line Swivel
first remove the two clevis pins. |

|
| 2. Insert the items you wish
to attach together into the clevis ends, re insert the clevis pins making sure both pins
are tightened down securely. |

|
| 3. Remove the
clevis pins to remove the items from the Line Swivel. |
Back to top
- The Line Swivel is designed to operate within it's specified safe
working load rating.
- For underground use, a safety factor of 3:1
is generally acceptable. For overhead use, a 5:1 safety factor
is required due to the higher risk of severe personal injury or property damage.
- Use of the Line Swivel at loads exceeding the
specified load rating will cause permanent distortion to both the bearings and
structure of the Line Swivel, even though separation due to failure will not occur until
the specified ultimate strength is reached.
- Line Swivels are not designed to be pulled over
sheaves or bull wheels since a bending load acts to increase the indicated tension
in the Line Swivel and may cause damage. However, if this cannot be avoided, it should be
done with minimal tension and with the clevis pins aligned.
- Do not modify or take the Line Swivel apart,
it has been assembled, and inspected, and is only covered by warranty in it's "as
shipped" form. Any attempt to dismantle or to modify the Line Swivel will result in
the warranty becoming void as well as creating a high risk of severe bodily injury or
property damage.
- Do not use alternate Clevis pins. DCD
manufactured Clevis pins are designed to fit and function properly with their appropriate
swivel under given loads. Do not use any other type of clevis pin or serious damage
and personal injury may occur.

- Make sure that all components of the pulling
system are able to
withstand the maximum pulling loads. Components not rated for the pull force may break and
release the stored energy of the pull. Never use a worn, defective or incomplete
component.
- Be prepared for the unexpected. Always use recognized safety
practices and wear recognized safety equipment.
- Under no circumstances should alternate Clevis Pins be
used.
- After each use check the Line Swivel for wear and external damage,
also check axial and radial slack or tightness in the swivel.
- Worn or bent clevis pins must be replaced.
- WARNING: when
grease is applied, care must be taken not to blow out the seals, therefore use of a hand
operated grease gun is suggested with slow pumping action.
