DCD DUB-Swivels are specifically designed for Directional Boring.   Most other swivels of this type are simply extensions of a Line Swivel, which is a product used for installation of overhead and underground cable in a relatively clean and dry environment.  There are two major differences between a Line Swivel and a Directional Swivel:

  1. The type of sealing required to protect the bearings
  2. The type of bearings used.

Never try to use a swivel that is not specifically designed for the Directional Drilling environment.
