It’s cranberry season across the street from DCD! For most of the year, our building faces an empty field, but every October brings a cranberry harvest that really brightens up the area.
First, the entire field is flooded using an elaborate irrigation system, then workers guide machines through the knee-deep water to pluck the berries from the low-growing plants, and then they begin to gather up the millions of berries that float to the surface.
The result is a sea of red!
