The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dcddesign.com\/lashers.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">61700 series Eagle Lasher<\/a>, designed for a bundle capacity of 2-1\/4&#8243; or single cable up to 2&#8243;, was originally designed to lash CATV or fiberoptic cable using metallic (stainless steel) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dcddesign.com\/2012-catalog-pdfs\/61000-61010-61020-61030-61040-lashing-wire.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lashing wire<\/a>. With a few design modifications, the Eagle Lasher will now accommodate non-metallic wire.<br \/>\n<!--more Continue Reading This Post-->Non-metallic wire has the advantage of being non-conductive, and because it&#8217;s made from a softer aramid strand, it&#8217;s easier to pull the lasher when lashing.  Normally a lasher tension adjustment mechanism is required to pull this type of lashing wire, but since the Eagle lasher doesn&#8217;t have a rotating magazine cartridge, the bundle doesn&#8217;t carry any momentum and won&#8217;t continue to come out of the machine if you stop lashing suddenly. Future models of the lasher will be able to lash with non-metallic wire, however, if you already have a unit that you would like to use to lash non-metallic wire, a retrofit is possible.  Contact us for more information.<br \/>\nIn addition, we&#8217;ve also introduced a new non-metallic wire bundle size of 900ft to work with the Eagle Lasher. The part number is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dcddesign.com\/lashers.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">61040-009<\/a>.  This bundle size is slightly smaller than our 1000ft bundle, but will also fit the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dcddesign.com\/2012-catalog-pdfs\/61000-61010-61020-61030-61040-lashing-wire.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lineman Lasher<\/a> if this is the length you prefer.
