Much Thanks!

We really appreciate getting emails like this from our distributors:

“Friday afternoon around 2:30 pm, Central Standard Time, I received a phone call from [our] Utility Contractor and he needed two grips by Monday morning. I called Kristie and she was able to ship the grips Friday with a Saturday delivery to their home. This may not seem like a big deal however I don’t know that any of my other 30 plus manufacturers could have made this happen. The customer was very happy and called me Saturday morning after the delivery to let me know. I appreciate DCD’s quick response and hard work.

Thanks again,
Matt

You’re welcome! When it comes to the crunch, we’ll do everything we can to get your order when you need it. It’s what we do to make DCD Design something more.

Lashing Wire Basics

DCD Lashing Wire is drawn from American-made steel rod to ensure the highest quality for easy spinning and long-lasting installations. (It’s RUS-listed, too, for federal contracts.)

We have a variety of metal diameters and grades to suit your application: aluminum, 302 and 316 stainless steel, 430 stainless, galvanized steel or coated aramid (Kevlar) yarn. Check the table or call for details.

When selecting lashing wire for your machine, keep in mind:

- a Straight Hub coil will fit the Lineman or Eagle lasher (or any manufacturer’s current lashers) whether they draw from the inside or outside of the coil
- Tapered Hubs are an old style not typically seen anymore, but we can specially coil wire in this profile
- Disposable Metal Reels are designed to fit older Cable Spinning Equipment (CSE) ‘K’ and ‘Special K’ lashers
- Special coils are midget-sized to fit older CSE ‘S’ lashers and the hand-held DCD ‘Q’ lasher
- Non-Metallic Material is a coated Kevlar yarn for special applications. The 1000ft lengths have the same dimensions as Straight Hub coils. The 4000ft length is coiled on a special spool for the CSE ‘Double D’ lasher for exceptionally long spans.

DUB-Swivel Promotion!

The DCD Type 2 DUB-Swivels are on sale for the month of October! DCD Design developed and patented the original HDD pullback swivel in 1996, and the design has proven itself in thousands of swivels since then.

The DCD DUB-Swivel® comes in a number of configurations besides the Type 2 Clevis-Clevis end connections. Each Series shares the patented sealing system and high-quality, brand-name bearings to assure durability and long life.

Type 1 swivels offer an API Box connection at the leading end and a Clevis connection at the trailing end in sizes from 15 to 80 tons. The rigid connection allows for more straightforward pushback, but it also places a more severe side loading on the swivel.
Type 6 swivels ( Stub-e-DUB™) have a mounting flange allowing assembly into the reamer itself, to reduce the gap back to the utility being installed. These 5 to 40 ton swivels are totally self contained and greaseable.
Type 7 swivels offer a male Pin connection to the reamer or hole opener ahead of the swivel in sizes from 5 to 40 tons. Once again, the straightforward pushback places a more severe side loading on the swivel.

ICUEE – From the Floor

We’re halfway through the first day of ICUEE, and the morning has flown by! Lots of interest in Tube-Lube, duct rodders and Power-Grips. We’ve been explaining why the 505 series line swivels are unique – our bearings are built for tension. The Neale Model B cable lasher, beautifully refurbished by John Innes, is getting a lot of interest from passers-by.

The limited edition Team Duckt rubber duckies have been hugely popular – so much that we’re going to have to ration them. For now, we’re trading a badge scan for our duckts. Once we run out of duckts, don’t worry: we still have a prize draw for all scanned entries. Come by Booth 201 in Louisville, KY, to meet the crew, see the demo trailer and scan to win!

Drop me a line if you’re reading and you can drop by! If there’s something particular you’re looking for, let us know so a product expert can be on-hand to answer your questions.

We’ll be flying out at 8am tomorrow morning, our demo trailer will roll into the hall at 3pm, and we’ll meet our “wheel man” at Standiford Field by 6pm. ICUEE officially starts on Tuesday the 6th and runs for three days, but we’ll be getting ready Sunday and Monday.

Come by and visit Booth 201 while you’re on the site! Pick up a catalog, ask some questions, scan your badge, and take home a limited edition Team Duckt rubber duckty.
